Transfer : Berkeley or Wharton ?

Go Wharton. I know someone who went and someone whos going there next year. The guy who went, has had more opportunities than his wife has with her PhD. My friend whos going says the campus is awesome. Plus rich kids know how to do it:

<a href="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=503180886802633928&q=wharton&pl=true%5B/url%5D">http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=503180886802633928&q=wharton&pl=true</a></p>

The campus at Cal is better. Penn is no Princeton there... The area around Cal is definitely much better. Haas graduates do well too, same starting salaries as Wharton. Haas could be smaller too, it's a very intimate enclave within Berkeley with excellent student support, comparable to Wharton's.

The environments are different enough (private vs public, more daddies with jets vs all walks of life, east coast west coast, etc) so that there should be a favorite based on individual preference.

If you can get into Wharton, it would be a sin to turn it down for Haas. Berkeley is good, but it's like comparing silver and Platinum. NOT the same level.

If you're thinking platinum as in the type of credit card a lot of your classmates have, you're right. But as far as the schools standing (Berkeley vs Penn), it's the other way around.

In Europe or Asia, "Penn" is a tennis ball bran, while Berkeley is one hell of a big name.

Im originally from outside the states, but came to cali at young age and i know that wharton has more value to the world and the nation than haas. i know both universities well because i moved to nj at 13.

cali has good weather and all. but the food really goes to philly. but you cant look at all those things. i look at what is going to get me more money and the name as an MBA in the world. which really goes to wharton. (i have about 3 MBAs in my family. they went to Haas, michigan, and university of south florida. they all say wharton and kellogg(chicago) is a good bet.)

but month ago i moved to south carolina (sucksss-people,food,money,girls,everything).no offence to nebody.

so now i have to think between usc's moore(university of south carolina) not the other one, and citadel. both suck. ill think about something. theres no way im going here. no ivy no nothing.

I've not been to Philly in years, but I have a heard time believing that the food in philly tops Berkeley and the Bay area's, to make it fair that within the same total geographical area as Phillly.

Wharton...Haas is also very good, so you can't go wrong with either but Wharton is the undisputed leader in undergraduate business - and by a considerable margin. Try telling an employer in any area that you went to Wharton and they will be thoroughly impressed.
