Transfer between UCs?

I was admitted as a junior transfer political science major at UCLA last year. By the time I got to UCLA I wanted to study economics instead (or perhaps a double major in both), but UCLA bars transfer students from making this switch unless they have all the lower division prereqs before transferring. I understand that transferring between UCs isn’t terribly common, but do you think that this could be used as grounds to transfer to another UC (preferable Berkeley, though UCSD is acceptable)? I have a 3.85 GPA, by the way.

Thanks

If your already a junior, you cant transfer unless you stay bellow the unit transfer cap. I’m not sure if I get this though, you currently go to UCLA and you want to transfer a second time or you go to UCSD and want to transfer for the first time? The application period has already passed so you would need to wait untill next year without taking any/very few units.

Ya economics at UCLA is top notch and very hard to get into. Like corinnejay said you have to stay below the unit transfer cap since your a junior already and since there is only 4 pre-reqs it’s hard to say. What you can really do is basically sit out a year of school and wait for applications next year fall 2011

I think you are SOOL. You should definitely explain your situation to UCLA and see what they have to say.
