*Transfer Brown 2017*

So I’m assuming decisions won’t come out tomorrow, since they didn’t email us today…?

@inordie I love Vandy. I just like Brown more.

I wish they would tell us already

@Gdawg30 I presume that they will email us when decisions are up! So perhaps tomorrow may be the date…

Chillax fellas, it’s either tomorrow, Friday or next Monday

Do they typically email before releasing decisions?

OK guys I need y’all to be real with me.
I think my essays are good and I have a 3.93 GPA (4.0 second semester) and I’m applying as a sophomore. I was my high school’s salutatorian BUT my SAT is only a 1900. In hs I had a 4.3 to 4.5 GPA and unweighted it was like a 3.8 to 4.0.
Is my SAT kind of an automatic rejection? Does anybody get into Brown with that?? Kinda wanna know if I was being unrealistic by applying and taking the chance haha.

Honestly, I have no idea if they automatically reject people whose GPAs/SATs are under a certain range. . . I feel like for the most part it’s a total crapshoot! When I was applying to colleges the first time I was waitlisted at Williams and rejected pretty much everywhere else. I think if you’d really distinguished yourself in other ways you’d still be in the running! But I really have no idea haha

Didn’t someone call and said the decision would be up today lol

@inordie Yes. I am praying for an acceptance

Good luck everyone!!

Could it be at 11am?

@sc4 I would assume it is automated when they add the decision to our accounts.

@lbmoney @nataliezim20 My understanding is that the transfer admissions process is pretty fickle. Admissions officers will obviously use the regular admissions criteria (e.g. GPA, rec’s, EC’s, etc.), but they are also trying to fill in gaps in their classes - so “what they’re looking for” can change from year to year. In addition, as it’s been noted earlier in this thread, the number of transfer spots available also vary from year to year depending on factors like yield and retention. One year, the admissions rate could be 20% and the next year it could drop to 5%. So, you are right that there is a “crapshoot” element to the whole process. Regardless, I wish you the best of luck and hope everyone rolls 7 or 11.

Nothing yet…

Ugh I hope it’s today

Me too, the waiting is killing me. Kind of expecting a rejection but hoping nonetheless!

What schools are you guys coming from?

UChicago. You??

Just finished an exam and was hoping the entire time to walk out and check my phone and receive some good new :/… waiting continues
