They waitlisted so many people…
Accepted:
College GPA: 4.0 (top 40)
HS GPA: ~3.7 but the drop was during one year, with good reason (top 20 stem ranked hs)
SAT I: 2250
SAT II: MathII(800), BioM(800), USHist(780)
URM: No
FA: No
**didn’t notice any portal changes so don’t worry about that in the future
Rejected for the second time. At a loss for words and angry. Wasted money and effort on this elitist school.
ahahaha anyone else dying at the fact that the response form is literally a Google Doc – guess this really is a “chill” school
@Gdawg30 agreed
@Gdawg30 they talk a big game. In my case: Veterans. I didn’t expect them to come through on their promise. But there’s multiple avenues to the same goal. I’m just gonna keep moving forward
rejected. got waitlisted last year. heartbreaking. no idea how my application is worse this time around.
@jq3322 different pool of applicants and transfer admissions is often harder. Fewer acceptances and open spots, therefore fewer waitlist spots. This isn’t a reflection of your application getting worse.
Keep your head up
I was waitlisted as a transfer last time.
anyone know what the acceptance rate was?
Rejected.
- GPA 3.5 top 50 public LAC
- Tons of extra curriculars and service, killer recommendations and unique essay
- No SAT, bad HS GPA
- International student underrepresented country
- Didn't apply for financial aid
- Also applied to Dartmouth, Cornell, Hopkins (rejected), WashU STL, Georgetown
Rejected Brown was my fav
Waitlisted
Accepted for Junior Transfer
School: Top 30 Public School
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.927 (Taking 21-semester credits this semester: Midterm 6 A’s, 1A-)
ACT: 32 (33 if I take the best scores)
SAT II: Math 2C-800, Physics-700
(ACT, SAT II were taken during my high school year. I guess it won’t matter much since I got A-s in college calculus physics and applied for a junior transfer)
Recommendation Letters: Physics, Math, Chinese (all professors or senior lecturers), and high school counselor (I guess they were strong since I talked to them individually)
Ethnicity: Asian (International)
EC: Okay (I couldn’t call it strong since there are tons of other applicants who are better than me!)
Essay: Tried My Best
I didn’t know I was going to be accepted after getting rejected from UPenn, JHU, and waitlisted from Columbia.
Guess Brown likes me. I am waiting for Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, and Northwestern.
My first option is Columbia. I am not sure about the rest. I guess I’ll think about it after rest of the four schools’ decisions come out.
I’ll answer any question if there is one.

Admitted and just committed, but then I checked back after an hour and my decision letter is gone. My portal now has a bunch of items for registered students. Can somebody confirm that I shouldn’t be able to view my letter after committing? I’m really scary that this is a mistake…
Also best of luck to everyone!
@Crizzy literally just had the same experience! i think we’re fine, haha.

Don’t think I would have left my school for amherst or georgetown- really just wanted options. super hyped for Brown…
i think having a compelling written section in the app is important (show passion!! what makes you tick!! why?/!!). you can do it!
Portal change***: I noticed the Financial Aid tab a few days ago that had not been there previously. I thought this was strange considering I did not apply for FA.
