I got the email that I was missing materials as well. I gave them a call and they said they send it to everyone, and all my materials were received.
@ConnorGrant19 @MysteriousDude They responded to my email (ended up in my spam so just saw it) and said that they were missing my Final Secondary School Report. I didn’t even know that was a required form because it’s not listed online.
Plus it seems like a silly form in the first place considering it would be filled out by the high school counselor I haven’t spoken to in five years.
The person said that the form is required and is usually sent with the high school transcript, but that the application would be reviewed without it if I was unable to send it, and apologized for the inconvenience.
Is this something you guys sent in? Should I be worried for not sending it to any of the schools I applied to? My school uses Parchment for their transcripts so I don’t even talk to anyone for it, it’s all online. I can get it done on Monday I’m sure, but still makes me a little nervous that I screwed up.
Thanks!
That’s interesting. The lady I spoke to on the phone said I was missing that Final Secondary School Report, but it was an optional part of the applicant checklist, and only the Final High School Transcript was required. I am sure the same standard applies to you as well, unles
s the admissions lady unknowingly misinformed me, which I doubt.
I have not received an email to my account about missing materials and I checked my spam as well. Everything has been checked as received including my midterm report. Could it be because you haven’t sent in midterm reports yet? Are you sure they told you everyone received it because that must not be true or I must have already been declined lol, which is possible.
In the ask section of Brown’s website it says that the final high school report is recommended, but not required.
Yah i sent in my Midterm Report so it’s not that. The lady said it was just automated and sent to all applicants, but if you did not receive an email than i guess it was not just sent to all applicants. Confusing Stuff.
Now my checklist shows that I am missing the Final School Report, but it’s only optional so I guess i shouldn’t worry.
@Goingforclacking the “wow” was an homage. I recognize the effort.
I emailed my high school counselor. I’ll submit it to be safe, but I do find the form silly. The whole bottom portion talks about an original report… that would have never been filled out… because I’m a transfer student.
Whatever.
Just out of curiosity, do you know what the final school report is? Would it just be the final transcript after this semester in college?
@wsotransfer it’s an additional form on the Common App. Asks for your final rank and GPA from your high school and a signature from a school official.
Go to Common App --> My Colleges --> Brown University (or any) --> Recommenders and FERPA --> Additional Forms on the bottom of the page --> Secondary School Final Report
I did not originally send the Final School Report, but I just asked my counselor to send it anyways. I wish the website would have told me it was required, that way I wouldn’t have to scramble for completing my application after the deadline.
guys, i wanna ask, is the midterm report a required document to send? because UPenn set Midterm report as an optional document if the applicant will be a junior standing in the process
I believe the midterm report is required of Brown for all transfers.
Maybe this Final School Report thing is an attempt to see what Brown transfers are serious about Brown?? *shrug
I called Brown and they told me my HS transcript was sufficient as my HS counselor wouldn’t send the final report as much I asked them to.
In regards to the Final HS Reports - for me personally, I ran into the issue that my high school either a) didn’t have the relevant information anymore or b) didn’t know what to fill in.
Called Brown and they instructed the high school counselor to “complete to the best of their abilities.” and if they are unable to complete a field “provide an explanation instead.”
Truthfully this report was the MOST annoying part of applying. I’ve been out of High School for three years and transferred in between (therefore I needed to submit twice as many Final HS reports). Simply getting the high schools’ to answer my voicemails was a complete nightmare.
rant over
My high school counselor was very helpful. I think it helped he remembered me. It was sent Tuesday
I second this being extremely annoying though. Had they asked for it to begin with, I would have sent it to begin with. Lol
Have they updated your Final Secondary School Report yet? It was sent on Monday, and still hasn’t updated.
@ConnorGrant19 mine has not been updated either, but I suspect it would take a week or two.
