I am a non-tranditional student. I know the schools I listed are very selective, but they don't require standardized tests, or waive them if an applicant has been out of high school for more than 5 years. I want to know if there were any students who accepted to these schools without SAT score.

I have heard about non-tranditional programs at some ivy leagues such as Columbia GS, Upenn LPS, Brown RUE, etc, but I don't like that they have some limitations.

Most colleges explicitly require SAT or ACT scores. You can call the admissions office to explain why you should be exempt. Otherwise, your application would be considered incomplete. However, if you present a strong application, it could be possible that you will be accepted regardless.

If you think that you could score fairly well on the SAT, and if taking the test is not too expensive or time-consuming, you may find it easier to just take the SAT.

I never studied for SAT, and deadline for those schools are March. I don’t think I can prepare for SAT within a month. And JHU, WashU, Georgetown website says SAT is not required. Especially WashU, they say they don’t accept SAT score that was taken after HS graduation. These schools don’t really require SAT. My concern is, have they ever accepted any applcants who never submit SAT?

My S was accepted as JHU transfer without submitting official SAT scores. His SAT I’s were fine/very good. His SAT II’s not so much.

So he listed his SAT I math score on the app (over 700 and he was applying for Engineering) and didn’t mention the other scores or submit from College Board.

When they say SAT optional, they mean it and I imagine that is true of all SAT-optional schools. It certainly is true of the ones I know of.

cherrios, you seem to have missed the point that these schools do NOT require SAT from some or all applicants.

OP, JHU has an Admissions Rep here on cc. You can go to the JHU forum. Please search that forum first to see whether your question has been answered. He prefers that to having new threads started on topics he’s already addressed.
