Transfer Chance and Advice for Hamilton?

Hi :-)

I'm a rising sophomore this year at my local LAC and I was looking into transferring to Hamilton mainly because the English program at my current school isn't that great and I want to major in creative writing and also maybe music composition (which my school also has none of).

In high school, I had around a 3.6 gpa, my ACT was a 33-34, and I had an average amount of ECs. I got into Illinois-Wesleyan, Knox, Emerson, Brandeis, and wait listed at NYU.

My current gpa in college at the end of freshman year is a 3.52. I work at the writing center and write for the campus newspaper. My fiction professor loves me and thinks I'm an amazing writer, so I think I could get a great recommendation from her.

If I take out my one C+ in Calculus, I have a 3.68. Is there any way I can remove the class/should I?

I've also heard that Hamilton is really big on school interest. I was wondering if the best thing for my essay would be to write about what Hamilton offers that my current school does not and how it would help me with my career goals. I've also noticed that the interview is important and was wondering if anyone has any advice on nailing it?

What kinds of things can I do this fall to improve my acceptance chances? Does Hamilton have prerequisites for transfers?

Thanks!

Anything at all?

Unless you retake it the grade stays, just like any grade.

Yes, this should all be included in your reasons for transferring. Talk about shortcomings of your current school w/o trashing it. You should also include what you will bring to Hamilton.

They would be stated on their website if they have any.
