Transfer chance for Fall 2011 and advice please

Very much into politics / international affairs - my major.

Currently at a CC - second semester Freshman
30 credits
3.86 GPA
2 leadership positions:
President of Amnesty International
Vice President of PeaceWork - student run activism group on campus
Member of other groups such as MSA, Political Science Organization, NYPIRG, Honors Club, Phi Theta Kappa, made Deans List

Communications manager at an up and coming NGO for Human Rights

High school was bad. 2.7 gpa, 1470 sats all combined =X don’t wanna take them again.

AP student in HS, went to 4 different HS’s, suffered depression and a whole lot of other family problems and gave up on school, I knew I couldnt fix my grades again so I was like eff it I wanna go to college and start over because I know I can do well.

Also applying to NYU Fordham GW American and Columbia

NYU, Fordham, American, GW don’t require SATs after 30 credits. American and GW dont require HS transcript either.

I am also now contemplating leaving NY - friends and family if I get into a school in DC. I really want to do IR and all that and I know DC has great opportunities but GW is very expensive. NYU has IR but it’s an honors major and I’m guaranteed a spot.
Columbia doesn’t either but I can have IR as a concentration to the Poli Sci major - same thing with Barnard.

Please chance and tell me what you think I should do.

I also havent started my essay, yeah like I said I’m a bit behind. Is there anyone willing to help me with the supplements and essay? Barnard’s supplements are intense!

I’m actually a freshman at GW looking to transfer to Barnard. If you’re interested politics/international affairs GW is definitely the place to be, and their financial aid is amazing (as long as you turn everything in on time) I met transfer students with simliar stats as well, so I’m assuming you have a good shot.
