Transfer Chance @ NYU, U of Michigan, Northwestern

I go to a good public university in the Midwest and I am hoping to transfer after my sophomore year to either NYU, Mich, or Northwestern for fall 2010. I was just wondering what anyone's input would be on my chances at either of those schools. First semester did not go so well but I'm hoping that my hard work and dedication will show in the following semesters and the schools will look at improvement. Any input would be appreciated.

Info:
Major: Undecided Business (Maybe finance)
Ethnicity: African American

High School GPA: 3.2 (Pretty Low, didn't put forth the effort)
ACT: 27

College GPA
1st semester:3.1
2nd semester:3.89
Est. 3rd semester: 3.85+
Cumulative GPA after 1st semester sophomore year: 3.61-3.67

EC's
Executive Board Member of Campus Programming
Student Senator
Undergraduate Curriculum committee
Student Services and Buildings committee

100+ hours of Community Service

I would really appreciate any constructive input…

Also I am aware that Northwestern does not offer a business major/finance so if accepted I would major in Economics (my minor if accepted at one of the other schools)

I would say you have a decent shot. Just try to bring your GPA a bit, if you can. :)

thanks for your reply lkhan.

any other opinions or input?
