Transfer chance to Stony Brook from Baruch

I go to baruch right now. I really dislike it there and i dropped like 2 classes already. so two W s. I got rejected from Stony brook my senior year. 81 avg, 1120 Sat. Should i apply now for spring 2006. do i even have a chance?

Are you a freshman....I don't know much about transferring difficulty, but if you are a freshman and got rejected, you probably would not be accepted for the spring semester because i am guessing they would look at your high school records in the admissions process. I guess my suggestion would be wait and apply for next fall, because they will have some college records to look at....that is if you are a freshman

are you sure you want to transfer here? the science programs kick ass here but otherwise everything sucks. i am here at stony right now and i'm trying to transfer out. it's really miserable here if you're not the kind of person that doesn't give a crap about anything and only smokes pot and drinks 24/7.

damn dude, I know someone who is doing the EXACT OPPOSITE of you. He is transferring out of Stony Brook into Baruch. Don't go to Stony Brook, that place sucks. I went there last year and everyone is a dic/k. Plus the classes suck.

Um Baruch is a Better Business school, maybe Hunter.

which business school is better baruch or binghamtons school of management?

what he said. Baruch is way better for business. Stony Brook is probably better for the sciences, but I would highly recommend anywhere but Stony Brook. It's not a happy place and no one wants to help you, not the professors, or the TAs whose job it is to help you. Not a single one of them.

the question i was asking is which is better for business binghamton or baruch? Not stony brook

does anyone know which is a better for business binghamton or baruch?????

i know a kid who transferred from baruch to the Cooper Union. he's not really into business like you guys are though. Cooper union has had a really high transfer acceptance rate last year.

According to the undergrad business program ranking of US News&Reports this year, Baruch College ranks 47th while Binghamton University ranks 116th. So, I guess Baruch college is better than Binghamton.

WingardiumLeviosa, do u have the stats of that kid?

Thx!

not too good. His GPA at baruch was a 3.8 and his SAT scores weren't too good. We've had thirty transfers into the cooper union this year (three times as many as the year before).

you guys wouldn't like it though. it's a hardcore engineering school.

i recommend you'll apply to NYU, colgate, Cornell, and other schools.

wingardium i have heard that at cooper union it is a total hell whole. I heard that all you do all day and all night is study. Is this true? Saying all that i know it is a great school what type of grades do you think you would need to transfer into the architecture program?

I know this is annoying but can anyone tell me the top 50 undergrad business program ranking of US News&Reports. Thank you

jjammer,

Cooper Union, in my opinion is a great school. But I'm a science person and I like the close knit student community we have here. I also like the fact that I have a full ride scholarship and I don't have to pay a dime (Cooper is a tuition free school). Another reason I love this school is because of the contacts it has and the reputation it has within New York City. We boast a 100% job replacement rate.

You must understand that Cooper Union is extremely selective. Our architecture and art programs are next to impossible to get into (more competitive than MIT, Harvard, Yale, and Columbia). Our engineering school is more lax but it's still really competitive. We have less than an 8% acceptance rate for art and architecture students and less than a 30% rate for engineering students.

Oh, and that's just for incoming high school students. Our transfer rates are much lower but for some reason, last year, we've had an unusually high acceptance transfer rate. However, the transfer students this year are very bright and talented individuals.
