Made Deans list fall and spring semester at MSU, graduated Summa Cum Laude in high school,

After the fall I'll be over the 50 credit mark

im trying to do the exact same thing as you. i've previously been rejected for Fall 2008 so i moved my application to Winter 2009 as request. Your stats are excellent and you should have absolutely no trouble in getting in for winter 2009. you should've gotten in as a freshman anyway. Trust me, I live in Ann Arbor and know quite alot about UM and you're definitley in.

How did you get the UofM calculated figure? How do they calculate the GPA differently? I am an Industrial Engineer from Northeastern Univ with a 3.696 Freshman GPA. What is that in UofM GPA?

Once your completed application is received, we recalculate your GPA into a "Michigan GPA". This is based only on core, academic courses, which include:

English
Science
Mathematics
Social Science or History
Foreign Language
Computer Programming
Grades are determined using an unweighted 4.0 scale:

A (including plus or minus ) = 4.0
B (including plus or minus) = 3.0
C (including plus or minus) = 2.0
D (including plus or minus) = 1.0
E or F = 0.0.
Freshmen: No extra (GPA) weight is given to Honors, Accelerated, or Advanced Placement courses; however, the difficulty of a student's curriculum is taken into consideration within the admissions process. Additionally, only courses taken 10th and 11th grade are used to calculate the GPA.

Transfers: The Office of Undergraduate Admissions recalculates the grade point average (GPA) for transfer students based upon the same 4.0 scale (see above). The GPA is calculated using all academic courses; however, students will not receive credit for courses in which they earn less than a "C."
