Transfer Chance

Hey all,

I currently go to a pretty decent school, but I find the social environment to be completely dismal, and coupled with the weather, I’m not entirely sure that I can take it for another three.five years. Point being, I need to get out of here before my brain seeps out through my ears, so chance me without making fun of me too much for transfer this year.

White, Male
Household income < $40K
First gen in college, first gen immigrant, speak a bunch of neat languages
HS GPA: 3.83
College GPA: 3.54
ACT w/ Writing: 34, 12 Writing
Needing substantial financial aid
Not sure about a major

Basically the bare bones, but I’m not terribly familiar with Brown’s transfer process (other than the obvious fact that it’s competitive), so any advice would be appreciated.

Ty.

FYI, from the Brown website:

"Q. Is financial aid available for transfer students?

A. Yes, but on a limited need-aware basis beginning with students admitted after Fall 2005. Need aware means that financial need will be taken into account in making the admission decision. Financial assistance is available on a limited basis to assist transfer students, who enter fall 2005 or later, in covering the cost of a Brown education. To be considered for financial assistance students must apply for financial aid when they make their initial transfer application. Students who do not apply for and receive financial assistance with their initial application, but suffer a dramatic change in a family’s financial situation (e.g. death of a parent, job loss, etc.) will be reviewed on a case by case basis."

Awesome...

don't let the financial aid thing scare you. i got in with need. it's just harder. but life is hard, right? lol

as did I...
