Transfer Chances and Questions

Here is my GPA

3.2 (Fall 06)
3.6 (Spring 07)
4.0 (Summer 07 at CC)

Cumulative 3.6 GPA (43 credits)

I know 3.6 may not seem great for some of the schools i'm looking at, but i'm wondering exactly how this looks. How will they look at the 3.2? It was my first semester and I had some trouble transitioning. Will they note this? Also, Will the 4.0 be counted since it's not at my university?

Also what are my chances at these schools?
Rice
USC
Virginia
Michigan
UNC-Chapel Hill

Well... if you apply now, as in for Fall 2007, then... only your Fall and Spring semester grades will actually be counted for admission.

It makes a huge difference in your case, and yeah... gonna have to know that before making a guess on your chances.

Also, I'm just gonna say that you're guessing that your GPA in the summer is a 4.0?

No, i'm applying for Spring 08 or Fall 08 (some schools don't do Spring admissions). I'm not applying for Fall 07 because I know that I didn't stand a chance with a 3.2.

Yes, the summer GPA is an estimate. I have 2 brothers who got much lower GPAs in HS who both went to the CC i'm going to and both received 4.0s.
