Transfer Chances at a few CA schools

<p>Hello! Im pretty new around here, but I am extremely impressed with the vast knowledge of some of the posters around here..I know you guys arent the admissions commitee lol, but I was wondering if anyone could help me out with my chances at</p>

<p>UCLA, UC Berkeley, Santa Clara University, USC, and UCSD as a Sociology major:</p>

<p>My UC gpa is around a 3.64..As of now, I have 2/3 prereqs done, will be finished with prereqs by the end of this fall..and i have one class left for igetc which I will be finishing in the spring. I have received As in the 2 prereqs I have taken so far...
I work 20 hrs/wk as an after school tutor for elementary aged-kids and have been doing so for about 4 years now, do community service at the local animal shelter, secretarial work in the summers, studying abroad in italy next semester. I know my ECs are not that impressive..Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I'm coming from a CCC and this is my second year.
One more question, will my fall gpa have an affect on the admissions decision?
By the way, I also posted this in the regular UC thread but i thought i might get more responses this way. Thank you in advance!</p>

<p>UCSD: you have an excellent shot
UCB/UCLA: slight reach/ match because soci is impacted</p>

<p>do you know what your GPA will be after this fall? cause if it goes up to a 3.7 or higher your looking good all around</p>

<p>Your GPA is pretty good for UCLA. Not a complete safety but I know soc majors who've gotten in with much less. </p>

<p>Can't speak for the other schools. </p>

<p>And yes, for UCs Fall GPA is considered. In January you'll update them with your fall GPA and that's what's used to decide admission. They don't even look at an application until Fall grades have been included.</p>

<p>What CC do you go to ? you might want to see if they participate in TAG with UCSD, that will turn UCSD into a gurantee for you. </p>

<p>If its a CC in the San Diego Area, most likely your school does participate in TAG.</p>

<p>admissions do look at your fall 06 grades. they review your applications but do not decide UNTIL they see your official transcript in around january which includes your fall06 grades.</p>

<p>Thanks everyone for your help! Yeah i definitely plan on bringing up my gpa a little bit to increase my chances...first i need to finish (and start) that uc essay lol..</p>
