EC's:
• I have a long history of martial arts (7+ years) but I've taken a break from it this year as I'm very busy.
• Founded a club at the university
• 9 years of a musical instrument (again, I am not doing it this year as I don't have time. Perhaps over the summer)
• Private tutoring

Awards:
• Various university awards; I received a full ride this year. I also received an award for being one of the best entering math students of the freshman class.

Essays: I don't have much time to write them. They won't be anything spectacularly creative, but they will be very genuine.

Recommendations: I was very happy with my professor recommendations. My economics professor wrote that I was one of the most active participants in the class and that I was helping other students in the online class forum with the TA's. I think this will give me an edge.

I am. What are my chances like at UPenn, Cornell, and Harvard? Harvard is a definite crapshoot but I want to go there so badly… like 100 times more than any of the other places I’m applying.

I am a college consultant. You need a good reason to transfer. Make the case for each individual college to which you are applying. For example, if you are interested in labor economics and the college to which you are applying has a strong curriculum for that in addition to a Center for Labor Economics, then your case is strong to make a transfer request. You have to make the admissions officers see that you need to transfer (more than the other applicants with the same grades, SATs, etc.) Basically, what does the new college have that the old one doesn’t in terms of your educational goals.

Thank you Joan! Also, should I mention why I am not happy at my current university or forego that all together and focus only on why I like their colleges? I do have specific programs that I like about each of the places I am applying and have researched.
