transfer chances-- business school

I'm a freshman at a top 100 LAC. I'm wondering what chances I have at the B-school at Villanova as a transfer for the winter semester. Anyway, here are my stats:

Me:
- black male
- Michigan resident
- Catholic

High school:
-3.7 gpa
- captain for both basketball and soccer
- low ACT score-- 21. I only took it once because I got accepted at every college out of high school because I was recruited for basketball and soccer at most of the schools I applied to. However, they were all small D-3 schools.

Volunteer service:
- Alter boy for ten years.
- started a basketball team for homeschoolers to compete against both private and public schools. We had three teams last year(freshman, JV, and Varsity).
- volunteer at public school every week to mentor

College stats:
- 3.42 gpa

1st semester classes/grade-- 4 credit classes
Freshman seminar/ 3.7
Functions/ 3.3
Pyschology/ 3.0
Theatre/ 3.7

2nd semester classes/grade- 4 credit classes
Calculus/ 3.0
Micro economics/ 3.7
History since 1877/ 4.0
English/ 3.0

Summer classes at Community College- 3 credit classes
Sociology/ 4.0 (prediction)
Macro Economics/ 4.0 (prediction)

Activities in College:
- College republicans
- IM basketball
- IM football
- Continue to work on the basketball teams I started(helping coach, find games, gyms, refs... ect)
- IM soccer
- I also worked out of with the basketball team for about two months before getting cut.

I'm a Villanova alumnus. The business school used to have a reputation (decades ago) of being the easiest school to get into; today it has a reputation for being extremely hard to get into.

Universities are always interested in transfer students. At this point, your ACT scores are irrelevant; you have a college transcript to offer. I'm not sure what an LAC is (local area college?), but your grades look very respectable. I'd go for it. Being an African American and from Michigan will both be pluses.

I would also, in your shoes, visit the campus and line interviews with the admissions office and the dean's office in the school of business.

Thanks for the reply. A LAC means a liberal arts college. ANyone else.....

I am a transfer student, who transfered into the school of business from the University of Maryland last year. Based on the individuals who transfered with me, it looks like you have a very decent shot of getting into the bussiness school. Being African American and from Michigan (as the previous post states) will help your chances as well. Apply early since the decisions come out rolling.
