Transfer Chances Fall 2014?

I am sophmore at Madison College looking to transfer to UW-Madison for the Fall of 2014.
1st year gpa: 3.2

this semester:
General Chemistry (4 credits)
Micro Economics (3)
Intro to Literature (3)
Intro to Sociology (3)

Next semester I plan on taking Environmental Science, English 2, Calc, and 2 other classes?

I've calculated it out and the ideal GPA I would need for this semester would be a 4.0.
I could get away with a 3.88 GPA this semester, making my cumulative around a 3.45. I know that the "average" GPA of a transfer student is a 3.4 but it also depends on the rigor of your classes. I am also aware that I didn't do great my first semester which is why I am nervous!
Please Help!

Greetings,

This is a representative from the UW-Madison Office of Admissions and Recruitment. Typically our admitted transfer students have a GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. We would encorage you to check out our admissions page http://www.admissions.wisc.edu/transfer/requirements.php</a> in order to better understand the requirements and expectations we have for our transfer applicants. I would also encourage you to speak with your advisor to see if you are eligible for any transfer programs from MATC to UW-Madison. Being a sophomore, I assume you have completed at least 30 credits (which would make you ineligible for some transfer programs), however all available programs are listed here http://www.admissions.wisc.edu/transfer/agreements.php</a>. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact our office at onwisconsin@admissions.wisc.edu
