Transfer Chances for MSU

First term CC student, more than 4 years since out of high school.

Majors: Business/Forestry
My strength for transferring is that there are no forestry classes offered at my CC

UW GPA of 3.6 (one B... after very disappointing Econ final)
EC: Natural resources volunteer, park district. I'm a bit of a native plant expert, and that's why I'd want to get a forestry/natural resources degree.

Classes for the term were 201 Econ, 211 Business-Accounting, 201 Japanese
Winter term is the continuation of all three (we have quarters, not semesters). By late March my GPA will be a 3.75-3.8
These aren't easy classes, are they?

Other schools--chance me if you feel like it:
Rutgers
U Washington
U New Hampshire
U Vermont
Amherst

Also, kinda stressing about it being after the priority. (Working on essay and that's it.)

If I apply within the next week will I be okay?

A 3.6 GPA is a pretty solid in for MSU transfers, I’d say (even applying after the priority you have a very good chance of getting in). However if you are applying directly into the business college, there are quite a few requirements that you would have to fulfill before being accepted in the business college (check the website for further details). I’d apply as a forestry major and then you can later add a Broad College business major to your degree once you are enrolled.

Thanks fa-la-la-lena. I tried doing that. I think I wrote a decent essay. Short/400 words? That’s a challenge! But I was a little stupid about the ECs section. I basically listed them not thinking that they wanted an essay there. Oh well, my essay was about volunteering with the elderly at my EC.
