Transfer chances for UPenn, Columbia, Gtown, among others

Just finished my Freshman year in college at a top 100 LAC. Finished with a 3.825 GPA. To give some more info, I have an internship this summer in Wealth Management. I belong to the Economics Society and am helping a teacher design a course in Health Care Economics next semester; really no other EC's. Top 15% of HS class with a 3.826 weighted GPA 1830 SAT 28 ACT (not going to talk about EC's b/c I'll be applying for Junior standing, therefore my HS record won't be as important).

What are my chances for:
CMU Econ
NYU Econ
Gtown McDonough
UPenn Econ
UofM Econ
UVA Econ
Villanova School of Biz
Swarthmore
Wake Forest
Northwestern Econ
WashU Olin School of Biz
UNC-CH
Boston College CSOM
Babson
Columbia Econ
Vanderbilt Econ
Cornell ILR

Trying to narrow down my choices. Thanks in advance!

Do you mind applying to Cornell CALS for Applied Economics and Management instead of Cornell ILR? The reason I’m asking this is because I’ve seen ridiculously many people with SAT scores of 1800-2100 and college GPA’s of 3.50-4.00 got into Cornell CALS for sophomore/junior transfer. Cornell CALS is the easiest one to get into (both freshman and transfer). If you receive a higher GPA next semester, and have a solid midterm report (transfer applicants are required to submit a midterm report), you will have a really high shot, I guess. Make sure if the program you apply for has prerequisites. If so, you must complete prerequisite courses. Start thinking of and writing your personal statements now will help you a lot more.

From my friends’ experiences (I have a lot of friends who attend Cornell :).)

I just entered as a transfer this year at Swarthmore. I would say that it is fairly difficult to get in. Just merely as a game of numbers, since Swarthmore is a small school, they only have spots for roughly 10 transfer students. You seem like a motivated person, If you are really interested in Swart focus more on the essay and personalize it to show why Swarthmore specifically is the right fit for you, good luck !

@‌Realgeukrak Well, it says on their website that AEM is extremely limited for Junior transfers and everywhere I’ve seen has indicated that ILR is the easiest.

@mk5251 Thanks for the input! Do you care to share your stats? I looked on college board.org and Swat’s transfer acceptance rate is a little higher than 10% and it probably fluctuates. Haverford’s is lower, like 7%.

@Gman3595‌ Oh, really? I didn’t know they state junior transfer is “extremely limited.” Now I wonder how most of my friends who applied to Cornell got into AEM as juniors… Maybe they were really lucky lol. You might find the links below helpful.

It’s all up to you. Good luck.

(p.s. Yeah, it seems like for AEM junior transfer is harder than sophomore transfer. I think my friends were all lucky…)

I dont have SAT scores, alot of overseas travel and independent study, and I transferred from a comunity college with a 4.0 GPA.
