Transfer chances from Berkeley...

So I am a first year at Berkeley, applying for second year

GPA at Berkeley: first semester: 3.86, second semester, who knows
GPA at TAMS: 3.7

first semester, english, ethnic studies, and political sciencec
second semester: organic chemistry, english, computer science, war and peace in the middle east

Sat I: 2020, SAT II Math: 700, SAT II Chem: 700

Researcher at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

Very close to professors, very good recs, not many other ecs, high school did lots of science fair, and attended Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science, intense research in 11th and 12th grade as well

I want to transfer mainly because of low undergraduate experience at Berkeley. I like Chicago's small feel and funding. I'm a researcher, so I'm gonna be doing a lot of that, they have the Aargon national lab as well

chances of transfer please?

throw me a bone, someone please?

Chances requests are always difficult. It looks as though you have the numbers to transfer, the question will be if you can convince them in your essays that you belong. It looks like you do.

yeah, i know, im gonna be working on the essays all winter break, making them as perfect as possible. what is the difference between early and regular for transfer students? do you have better chances early? anyone know?

It can't hurt to apply early. It would show more interest. Besides, if the admissions office gets screwed up like last year, they'll be weeks late with the decision.
