Hi everyone! I am currently a sophomore at a US News Top 40 school studying finance.
I am applying to transfer into Georgetown MSB with a 3.18 college gpa. My activities include being on a non-profit board, internships, two part-time jobs, two business fraternities, volunteer experience, and the investment club.
I know my GPA is quite low, but I’d like to know how I stand with transfer admissions into Georgetown provided my reasons for transferring are solid.
My HS stats are 3.5 UW gpa, 4.3 W gpa, 30 ACT.
Thanks!
The transfer acceptance rate is very low for Georgetown, and I assume you’d be applying to McDonough for a finance major as well? With your GPA I think your chances are pretty low. Are you applying because you hate your current school? Or just because Georgetown is better?
@philbegas Yes, I will be going for a finance major in MSB. And I don’t hate my current school, but I wouldn’t say that I love it. So do you think Georgetown is even worth applying to?
I think that if you could be happier at school you should come up with a short list of schools you’d rather be at. maybe 6 schools? 2 reaches 2 matches 2 safeties. Worst that can happen is you don’t get in or you get in and you decide to stay!
Remember though, financial aid is poor for transfers.
