Bates (1st Choice) Waitlisted last year.
Midd
Bowdoin
Conn College

Bates accepts very few transfer students. That said, I think the fact that you were waitlisted last year and are re-applying should be in your favor. Make sure you get there for an interview, even if you had one last year, and tell them the reasons why Bates is a better fit for you than Smith. Good luck!

Transfer Students
Total number of transfer students who applied: 149
Total number of transfer students who were admitted: 41

Thats new from collegeboard. And it seems better for the % of transfers they take.

Midd was a joke with like 1/230 accepted.
I visited this weekend, I'm doing an alumni interview since you cant interview on campus past December 05 for a 06 fall transfer. So we'll see how it goes. Thanks!!!

I got in as a transfer and my college wasn't anywhere near as good as Smith. Midd IS a joke, I looked into it, did an interview, and realized I was wasting my time. Bates lets in the people that are not only capable and active outside class, but the ones that really show they want to go there more than anyone else. This year's transfers weren't as stellar as I thought and they let in a TON of them. Just hope this year it won't be back down to 18 percent like it was a couple years ago.
