Transfer Chances: NVCC -> UVA (Non-Guarenteed)

I'm sure many of you from Virginia are versed in this transfer as it is one of the most common transfers I've seen in the state. However, after looking over some threads I didn't believe they correctly described my situation, causing me to ask you:

What are my chances to transfer from NVCC to UVA College of Arts/Sciences?

Economics is what I plan to study at UVA

Non-Guaranteed Admissions (Missing Foreign Language 201-2)
Transferring 3rd year (Junior)
NVCC GPA: 3.86 (HS GPA: 3.01)
Credit Hours Total: 58
Honors Core Curriculum Complete
SAT: 1310 (Non-Writing)

Extra-Curricular:
Customer Service Rep (20 hr/week) Fresh/Soph
Accounts Receivable (10 hr/week) Soph
Volunteer - Run Youth Basketball League (15 hr/week, Nov-April) Jo/Sr/Fresh/Soph

Recommendations:

Good. I will get one from the NVCC Honors Chair who will give me a good review since we bonded a lot. Probably an additional work/service one.

Any ideas, anything I'm missing, or any comments would be much appreciated.

EDIT: Already tried the College Chances, got no response so I figured I would try here.

I think you have a good shot. Your GPA looks pretty good and your extras look nice as well. If I were you, I’d check out the Econ Department’s website ([Transfer | economics.virginia.edu](http://economics.virginia.edu/undergraduate/transfer)) and see what sort of courses they look for in transfer students - just saying that because I’m not sure whether or not they’d want some more math or other econ courses so you can plan accordingly for the upcoming semester.

As far as your language courses, if you get in, I’d HIGHLY recommend taking summer courses at UVA to knock out the requirement (or other courses). It’s what I did, and it really helped me become more comfortable in the area.

For some perspective, I got in with a 3.7 - granted, this was after applying two other times and having a LOT of credits from NVCC.

Best of luck - I’m loving my experience as a transfer student thus far and it’s a great place to be.

Are extra curricular activities really important to get into UVA? I just completed my Associate’s degree from NOVA with 4.0. I am a member of some clubs but not really an active member. I worked around 20 hours a week (not major related) and I started volunteering at some organization outside NOVA from the last semester. I wanted to transfer to McIntire but after visiting many websites I am not sure if I should even apply there. Do I have any chances of getting into UVA? Or is there something I could do now to increase my chances?
I would appreciate any help/suggestions.
