Hey guys,

I just had some questions and wanted to realistically know my chances of getting into the school. I'm going to apply for admissions for next fall. I'm currently going to NVCC. I won't be applying through GAA since I did school part-time at first and won't be finishing up an associates within 2 years, which would defer me.

Gender: Female
- First generation college student
- Born in Mexico
- Permanent Resident (Don't know if this affects the application)
- Fluent in Spanish
Age: 20
GPA: 3.28
Intended major: Biology
- I'd probably be applying as a second year (I think).

In high school I did FBLA for 2 years and was vice president my senior year. I also did Art Club senior year.

I don't really have any ECs because I've been working to be able to pay for school (oldest of 5). I did get promoted to a leadership position at my job, so I don't know if that'd help my application.

So.. do I have any chances? What should I aim to get my GPA to by the end of spring semester? Also, I currently have 37 credits (not counting the ones I am taking and will be taking), am I still required to take the SAT? If I'm not, is it recommended? And just to make sure, I do have to turn in a high school transcript, correct?

Finally, would it be too late to do volunteer work now? And should I join Phi Theta Kappa? Would that actually help my application?

Thanks for all the help!
