Hi everybody,

I posted a similar message before, but now that I am in college I have a better idea of the whole situation.

Before I begin, I request you to read through the whole message. This took quite some time.

After finishing 8th grade in the US, I moved to India, where I completed 9th, 10th and 11th grades. I ended up moving back to the US to complete 12th grade.

Unfortunately, I did not know the 2 Indian Languages I had to take as classes in India.
Due to this, my GPA was greatly affected.
I had 2 B's, 2 D's and A's for the rest of my transcript.

I graduated with a unweighted GPA of 3.67 and a weighted GPA of 3.81 and I was in the top 10% with rank #15 of of 187.

I made a 26 on the ACT, and I didn't take the SAT. I would like to state here that I know I need a higher score. I have already taken the ACT thrice so I plan on taking the SAT sometime in October/November.

I chose to go to a community college as it is the largest in the state, and because of a "full load" (12 hours) tuition scholarship.

My goal is to transfer to Emory in the fall of 2013.

Here is a list of the things I did in High School:

9th Grade: 1st place in the regional science fair and 4th place in the state science fair. President of the Science Club. About 60 hours of Peer Tutoring; about 28 hours of Soup Kitchen.

10th Grade: President of the Public Speaking Team. About 60 hours of Peer Tutoring; about 28 hours of Soup Kitchen.

11th grade: About 100 hours of Peer Tutoring; about 28 hours of Soup Kitchen.

12th Grade: 1st place in the School Science Fair. 1st place in the DECA Regional competition and 2nd place in the DECA State Competition. Highest average in Pre-calculus, AP Biology, AP Macro-economics and Fundamentals of Art. Outstanding effort in AP English.
Vice President of DECA and Treasurer of Spanish Club. I was ranked as a Corporal in JROTC.

About 40 hours of Peer Tutoring, and 10 hours of Community Service. (JROTC)

College Stats (So far)

Calhoun Warhawk: Calhoun Warhawks are literally ambassadors for the college. You can read more about them if you'd like here:

Calhoun Community College | About Warhawks

I am currently taking 19 credit hours (maximum) and I'm finding it quite easy. I plan to take 18 next semester and then transfer to Emory with a "potential 37 credit hours". I say potential because I know not all of them will transfer because I am transferring from a CC after all.

1) I will do my very best to get a 4.0 gpa. Besides that, what do you think I should be aiming to get on the SAT?

2) Will Emory consider my background? (HS GPA due to relocation to India)

3) I know I only have 1 College EC. But to be a "Calhoun Warhawk" is somewhat prestigious I feel. (We represent the school)

4) I will try to do peer tutoring and I will see what else I can do for my college ECs.

Please give me your feedback. And please don't say: You have no chance of getting in with a 26 on the ACT. I know that already. Like I said, I will take the SAT.

So with everything in consideration what are my chances in transferring as a Fall 2013 student?

Thank you.
