Transfer chances to George Washington University

I am currently an undergraduate business administration student at Winthrop University (In SC, not very selective, but a decently established college nonetheless) with 55 credit hours and a 3.4 GPA. I am looking to transfer into George Washington University to study Mass Communication, and potentially dual major in both Mass Communication and Business Administration. I know GWU is very selective, but from what I understand, acceptance rates are slightly more formidable for junior-level transfers. I also heard the communications department isn't nearly as competitive as GWU international business department. I am looking to transfer in the Spring '15 semester.

I have extracurricular activities as well, pertaining to journalism:
-Co-Founder/Producer of a Winthrop University college radio station for a year
-Internship for a semester at my local newspaper
-Volunteer at Animal Shelter weekly for a year

I also know I can write a strong essay. I'm a native Virginian and want to make it back to my home state. Just wondering what you all think my current chances of acceptance are, and if you have any suggestions to improve my application.

Thanks!

Did you get accepted?
