Schools I want to transfer to:

JHU (I was waitlisted there, probably my top choice), Harvard, Yale, Darmouth, Cornell, PENN, and Duke.

Thanks in advance!

I say in at all except HY (just b/c of low transfer acceptance rate) but i think you have a really good shot at all the schools you schose…

I think you have a good chance coming from the UF honors program. But, all of these schools are really hard to transfer to, no matter how great of a student you are. They just historically have really low transfer percentages. Keep working hard into the second semester and maybe try to get involved in a few more extracurriculars to improve your chances a little bit.

Thanks a bunch guys! Keep 'em coming. :)

You are a freshman, so your HS record means a lot. Although you look good right now academically, maybe you should wait a bit longer (or take more courses during winter intersession, if your school has that) in order to establish your college record and seem more competitive-- im not saying you are not right now, but college has the most significant weight.

What is your major? If you are applying to Wharton, it would be difficult to predict.

I would say you are in at JHU and Cornell.

Unsure about Penn, Duke (they accepted 10 out of 600 last year into Trinity College of Arts and Sciences; collegeboard has the information from 2 years ago), Harvard, and Yale

I’m a Chemistry major/ pre-med, and would like to stay that.

You should go to JHU; you cant go wrong with JHU if you are pre-med.

Anyone else care to opine?

Anyone else?

I’m beyond shocked you didnt get into Hopkins the first time and I’d be beyond shocked if you didnt get in as a transfer.

Hey calculus, I’m in UF honors too! I’m also looking to transfer. I don’t think we know each other, since I’m not sure I know another person who wants to transfer, but it would be really funny if we did. PM me or something! =P

same here…UF honors. Where are you planning on transferring to loveheX?

I live in East, where do you guys live?

nice, i live in riker

Why don’t you live in Hume (when I said East I meant Hume East)?

All input is greatly appreciated.

Ohh, I tried getting a single room in Hume, but it didn’t happen, so I settled for a single in Riker instead. I know quite a few people in Hume though.

I’m not completely sure where I want to transfer–but definitely a better school with a better statistics program. I really regret choosing UF solely for financial reasons. My stats are pretty similar to calculus, we actually have a lot of the same activities, lol. Mu Alpha awards, marching band (though I was in drumline), etc.

I live in Yulee, which was supposed to be the international dorm..haha, what a joke.

that is surprising, though i though weaver was the international dorm, with all the UWC scholars living there and all.

Let’s see what else anyone else thinks?
