Hello all,

I am applying for the second time to the U of Washington. I applied for the fall of this year but was rejected. My GPA was lower and I did not have as many credits. I now have a 3.098 GPA and 48 credits. I am studying sociology and wish to transfer there for the same program. I am taking a semester off as I foolishly did not apply to any other colleges for this semester. So I plan to try again.

I am a 24 (25 in September) year old Hispanic male. I am a high school dropout and a sophomore in college. My GPA is a 3.098 (when I applied last time it was a 2.87). I am really hoping to transfer out of here and think that the U of WA might be just the place. I have 48 credits and want to try again. Do you think my chances have gone up? I will rewrite my essay to inform them that I have worked harder and brought up my GPA. I also do not have the language requirement met. The problem being that the languange I am interested in pursuing was not offered at my current college (Arabic). I can hopefully explain that to them. I am also able to secure a letter of recommendation or 2 if I am lucky. I will have the teacher mail them for me. Both letters are from my proffesors and both are in the Sociology department.

Thanks to all who respond. I am really hoping to transfer and U of WA was my first choice and I think I should follow my gut and apply again.
