<p>Hey guys, I was hoping someone could help me out in trying to figure out what would help me increase the chances of getting accepted to UVa. I’m currently finishing up my freshmen year at a Florida University.
College:
*3.4 GPA (went down because I missed a final, leaving me with a C- for Cal)
However, most likely will be up to a 3.5 by end of Fall 2009. (which still sucks but it happens).
*Relatively active:
*NCAA
*NSCS member
*Phi Alpha Delta Pre-law Fraternity
*Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society qualifier but denied it
*Dean’s list for two semesters
*Volunteer at Florida’s Capitol Museum
*Outloud Magazine/newspaper staff writer
*Currently on Scholarship
*Might intern at Attorney General’s office
*Currently working</p>
<p>High School- had ok grades, but nothing really stands out. Just enough to get me and in-state scholarship. Was fairly involved in clubs & sports, but nothing major.</p>
<p>I am looking for what my chances are and what I can do to improve them. I know the GPA is kind of low, but the Cal was almost unpredictable as it was a last min thing that I could not make the final, but it’s really weighing down my GPA.</p>
<p>Hey guys can I get your opinion on my chances to transfer to the college of business at JMU. I attend CVCC in the VCCS system and have completed an associates degree in engineering along with the all the classes recommended to transfer into the college of business. I have a 3.1 GPA and very little EC’s due to a full time job. My high school record is not pleasant at all but hopefully having an associates degree will help me there. I was just wondering what everyones opinion is?</p>

High School: 3.2 gpa
I took honors and AP’s all throughout high school.
In high school I was in over 9 clubs holding officer positions in them and I worked part time from sophmore till senior year. I also cheered.
Freshman year at Old Dominion University: 3.075 gpa
I transfered to a vccs for my sophmore year: 4.0 gpa
Currently I work part time. I am in a biological honor society and have done lots of volunteer work with tutoring and coaching. I also play golf and intend on trying out for the womens golf team.</p>
<p>I completely forgot to say where I am applying. I am applying to UVA which is my top choice and JMU.</p>
<p>I transferred to Uva from JMU. Are you going doing the guaranteed admissions agreement?</p>

<p>If you want to get into UVA you should go onto their website and search their competency requirements. They are looking for students who are transferable. The more of these classes you have the better your chances of being accepted. Also, write some killer essays!</p>
