You’ll be a competitive applicant, but your high school stats are going to factor in, and they’re pretty low for all those schools.

You’ll have a better chance applying for spring transfer next year.

You’ll probably get into UMiami.

I just got my acceptance letter from them.

I have a 3.65 from a CC and i had a 3.3 in HS. Plus a terrible 1600 on my SAT’s…

That’s good to hear. I though after 30 credits they don’t really factor HS stats as much?

Congratulations, I’m sending in my transfer stuff this week. How many credits did you have when you sent in your application and how soon did they respond to you?

UMiami-yes
UMich- no
Boston College- maybe
UVA- no
Cornell- no
Dartmouth- no
Vanderbilt- maybe
Georgetown- no

One semester isn’t enough to make up for mediocore hs grades. Apply for junior standing. You’ll be a much stronger applicant.

Than you for your honesty. What about applying after 3 semesters as a spring transfer to any one of those?

I had 47 at the time of applying. I will have 62 by the time i decide to transfer.

I didn’t send my HS stats to UMiami.

If you apply now, Miami will be the only school on your list to take you. If you apply next year with the same grades then you have a shot at BC, UVA, Cornell, and Venderbilt.

Only some of those schools take Spring applications. It also doesn’t look like you really know where you want to go, just that you want out of FIU. I understand, but I suggest you go visit some of these schools to get a feel for them.

Check your PMs

OrsonSwells.

A chance at BC but no chance at Georgetown? The transfer acceptance rate for Georgetown is a lot higher (twice as high) than that of BC.

I think Georgetown is more selective though. I know that the numbers on sites might say differently but Georgetown is difficult, a lot more so than BC

You might have a chance at U of M. I’m a transfer from a community college, and transferred with 62 credits. I was homeschooled and DID NOT take the SAT/ACT…you’d really think that would work against me! From all the conversations I’ve had with advisors at U of M, hs grades/test scores aren’t really a factor if the applicant has 62 credits/Associate’s Degree and a high GPA, because you’ve proven you can do college level work. Just throwing that out there :)
