<p>Hi, I'm a WI resident currently attending freshman year at 4-year MN state university.. My current GPA for this fall will probably be 2.8, had killer classes not related to my major (math, science) so next semester it will go up, hopefully! To around 3.0</p>

<p>I also attended a UW 2year college during high school (dual enrollment) and during the summer... GPA was 3.6 (was 3.9 before my public speaking class)</p>

<p>I would like to transfer in Fall 2012, majoring in Sociology. Chances?? Thanks in advance!</p>

<p>Did you get into UW as a freshman? If you were admissible in the first place, it changes a lot how the admissions office views you. How many credits will you have by the end of the year. And also, what are your standardized test scores? I’m not sure if UW requires it but a lot of top schools do for sophomore transfers so if you don’t know already, you should check it out.</p>

<p>I think a 3.0 is the bare minimum needed to transfer. Higher better, obviously.</p>
