I was curious as to what my chances would be for transferring to Villanova. I am currently a 1st year student at Virginia Tech, and am enrolled in the College of Engineering. I have found that Engineering is not for me---not to say that I'm "failing out" because Im actually doing quite well--I made the Dean's List last semester
Here are some of my stats..

-High School GPA: 3.81
-Top 10% of Class
-SAT: 1120, 600M 520V ---Let me know if you think that I HAVE to retake them again....I took them during my 11th grade year..and never took them again. I am POSITIVE that I could do better, but am wondering if I can get in without a retake.
-College GPA @ Virginia Tech: 3.44
-Resident of Maryland

-Also, in high school I had a TON of EC's....including..Varsity Soccer 4years, All-Academic A Team 2years, Tons of volunteering, food pantry at church, Engineering Internship at Reagan Naitonal Airport, SGA, FBLA, FCA--President, ect.

I would appreciate some feedback....Its a pretty stressful time right now just trying to decide what I want to do....I figure that Villanova is a wonderful place to do that. Please let me know if you think that I even have a remote chance.

in.....................

Keep in mind that if you transfer to Villanova you will not be living on Villanova's campus but at a local college down the road about a mile. This makes becoming a part of the campus life a bit more difficult, and often requires the joining of a greek organization. However, it does allow tight-knit friendships to form within transfer student circles and most kids can get on the main campus after winter break.

(my sister transferred)

hey. well, i am currently a 1st year student at villanova and what ilcapo said is not totally true. His sister must have gotten housing on the Harcum College campus. However, that is not the case with every transfer student. In fact, you could get housing with all the other sophomore in the quad (best housing on campus) if someone from the current freshman class decides to transfer and there is an opening there. Let me remind you though, this is all random. But do not think yo uwill be housed off campus because the chances are you won't. And you are never required to join a greek organization. Only 10% of this entire campus has gone greek. None of my friends do it, except one and even that kid is with us all the time. You never feel pressured to join!

As far as your chances, you're definately in. I am a bit curious as to which college you would be applying to (arts/sciences; commerce; engineering; nursing?) Which every one you choose, you are in.

I would like to talk to you more about Villanova, if you have the chance. As a matter of fact, I am beginning the process of transfering out of Villanova because I do not like this enviornment. I do not mean to scare you, but Villanova is "unique" It is not like most other colleges; instead, it's a place with a "central new jersey, catholic schooled, 'my daddy works on wall street'" mentality (as many people here phrase it). It is tought for a lot of people, and that would include me. But im me or e-mail me!
