transfer chances w&m->UVA

so, i never thought i would be back here after my senior year of high school, but here i am. it's an addiction i guess?

just wondering what my chancers of transferring into UVA spring of 2009 would be. i am currently a rising sophmore at the College of William & Mary.

college gpa: 3.65 (3.55 fall/ 3.71 spring)
high school gpa: 3.50 (3.21 fr, 3.00 so, 3.65 jr, 4.14 sr)
SAT: 2130 (660 reading, 710 math, 760 writing)
SAT II: 790 math 2C

ecs
(high school)
- played football 3 years/ tuba for 4, all districts, first chair, etc. cum laude, honors senior project at high school, work experience from high school, etc.
(college)
- chinese student association; hoping to write for school newspaper next semester, (too few ecs?)

random other factors
- essays should be solid
- teacher recs may be shaky, as i dont really talk alot in class, but i should be able to glean a few solid rec
- im fluent in english, two dialects of chinese, and spanish
- gender: M
- race: asian
- hopefully maybe getting into McIntire and being an accounting major, or Hispanic studies

any feedback will be great, thanks!

What do you not like about W&M?

a 3.6 gpa @W&M could prob transfer anywhere they wanted.

If you apply to the college of arts & sciences, you will get in. McIntire is a bit more difficult, but you'd have a solid shot.

I say you're in too. Why do you want to transfer away from W&M?--Just curious.

thanks guys, this is positive news.

as far as why i am transferring, it's more of me liking UVA more than say, disliking W&M. im probably going to major in accounting, and think that mcintire has maybe a better reputation than mason, esp in that field. plus, UVA a bit closer to home :-D

Nothing wrong with being close to family. Good luck.

Oh so McIntire attracts you to UVA.. If you do well in business/math-related classes while at W&M, your chances are better.
