Your help is GREATLY appreciated.

Cornell is my first choice - can anyone help with a guess as to my chances getting in? Am I wasting my time? Can I consider my acceptance to be a good bet?

I forgot to add that my reference will be written by one of the most famous Cornell Alumni (NYS politician), with whom I worked closely this summer.

i have to run to finish up some work for tonight, but i did a quick run through of your stats, and it looks like you'd have a good shot if you have good essays/recs. I'll comment a bit more when i get a free minute!!!

why do you want to transfer to Cornell?

Gomestar: Thanks so much, I'm truly appreciative.

Eternity: It just seems like the best school for me, for many reasons (great school, rigorous academic programs, strong in the sciences, proximity, familiar environment, chance at an acceptance, etc.)

Southbound: That's why I'm applying. My GPA isn't as high as yours. To what college are you applying? I'm getting straight As now, which will pull me up to close to a 3.6, but I'm not sure if it'll be enough.

Either to CALS, CAS or Human Ecology. I just want to make sure I get in, mainly.

I'm applying to CALS for biological sciences.

Yeah, that seems like a good fit for me as well.

Do you think applying to CALS gives me great odds at getting in?

I don't know. I just hope I don't get rejected. I REALLY want to go there. I know some others may have better stats, but that's my dream, and I've fallen in love with it. Actually, I think you have a great chance. Mine's not as good, but ohh well. Human Ecology also has a high rate. Maybe you should look into that?

Yeah, I'm considering it.

Human Ecology has a 51% acceptance rate to CALS's 41% and CAS's 11%. It's not really worth studying a program you don't like to get into a good school, though. Maybe you disagree?

actually, according to cornell's stats, CALS is like 55 percent, HE is like 45 percent, and CAS is very low.

For transfer or freshman acceptance? I think you're wrong...

There's a website that has all the stats. I dont' remember what it was but you can search for it, I do remember that CALS and HE were really high, and CAS lower. I'm going to just try my best and go with CALS, and hope I get in.

Yeah, same.

and here's the general website:

http://dpb.cornell.edu/irp/undergrad.htm

18% Cas
49% He
55% Cals

Let's hope we both get in.
