transfer chances

What do you think my chances are of transferring to any of these schools?

Current University: Rutgers University NB/Piscataway (#64 USnews)
HS GPA: 3.2
College GPA: 3.72 (after freshman year)
SAT: 1990
ECs: A couple of jobs, some volunteer work, played baseball in HS (nothing too exciting)

Schools I may apply to:
-Cornell University (#15 USnews)
-Vanderbilt University (#17 USnews)
-Emory University (#20 USnews)
-UNC Chapel Hill (#30 USnews)
-New York University (#33 USnews)

Comments: Any suggestions for other schools I should consider would be greatly appreciated.

What are your financial aid needs? Not all of those schools meet need for transfer students.

Your HS GPA is a bit low but since you’re applying as a junior transfer, it won’t matter as much. Your SAT is solid, as is your GPA. Continue to get involved, raise your GPA, and you should get accepted into at least one of the schools you’ve listed.

I don’t have any significant financial needs…thanks for the help. also, are there any other schools you think i should consider?

bumppppppp

May I ask why you’ve chosen those schools?

My stats are kind of similar to yours so heres a free bump so I can see what people say. I’ll be applying to some of the same schools as well.

Went through your post tracker quickly and it seems you’ll be applying to each school’s College of Arts and Sciences.

If you apply next year (your sophomore year in college) with at least a 3.7 GPA and all generation education requirements met:

Cornell University- N
Vanderbilt University- N
Emory University- N
UNC Chapel Hill- Y
New York University- Y

If you are URM, then I think you’ll have a great shot at Emory and maybe a solid shot at Vanderbilt if your GPA really gets up there in the 3.8+ range. With a 3.7+ though I’m confident you’ll get into NYU CAS and UNC CAS.

thanks for the help. im not URM, hopefully that wont set me back too much; and yes i’ll probably be applying to each school’s College of Arts and Sciences.
