Hey,
I’m currently a freshman (2016) at Cornell, and regretting it. While I’ve found my niche here and have some great friends, the overall campus culture is just not for me. While I’m not 100% sure about transferring, I’m very sure about sending in some applications to transfer. At the same time, I obviously don’t want to be throwing my money at colleges I have no chance of getting into… so what would my chances be for Brown?

HS Stats:
Type of HS: large, mediocre, public
SAT: took it twice. reading 750/writing 770/math 660 (best in one sitting is 2180, superscore is 2190)
GPA: 3.8 UW/4.3 W
ACT: didn’t take
APs: psych 5, comparative gov’t 5, US gov’t 5, US history 5, english lang 5, english lit 5, japanese lang 5, macroeconomics 4, calc AB 3
Awards: national merit scholarship finalist, national AP scholar
Clubs: GSA board, did relatively well in debate (captain, national qualifier, state qualifier, league champion), some other stuff–all of my extracurriculars were centered around government/politics

College stats:
College of Arts & Sciences
GPA: 3.78 after fall 2012 (cornell is on a 4.3 max scale). i have a relatively challenging courseload, but not a lot of credits
Credits: 15 in fall 2012 and 14 in spring 2013 (plus 23 AP credits)
Clubs: not super involved. I work on campus, and am a member of 2 clubs (gov’t/politics-related) but no leadership positions or anything

I can’t think of any other important information at the moment… but I’m pretty sure I could get decent (but not stellar) letters of rec from professors. Also for reference, Brown is probably the most “prestigious” college I’m thinking of transferring to (my other options include community college, University of Hawaii at Manoa, and University College London).

thanks!
