I'm applying to transfer out of American University (hopefully to another school this Spring). I feel that AU doesn't challenge me enough, not only because of it's classes but because of the general population. While people are smart and frequently debate, I find both students and teachers a bit narrow in how they look at the world and unwilling to keep an open mind. I'd prefer to go to a school that doesn't just want to be successful but wants to really expand minds, as I rarely left a class really thinking about what was just discussed. Or at the very least I'd like a school more challenging.

So suggestion/chances?

I'm interested in International Relations, Anthropology and Linguistics. Schools that I'm looking at so far include: U Mich (Ann Arbor), Northwestern, Cornell, NYU, BU, Colgate, and Vassar. I'm considering adding Carnegie Mellon

My current college stats:
GPA- 3.68 (somehow brought down by a B in Art)

I've had two internships, one at an international research firm and one at the center for Israel studies at my school. I'm also interning at the senate office starting this fall.

I'm not sure what counts as a rigorous course load, but I've taken a 300 level course and Arabic and gotten an A in both.

High School:
2090 SAT, 31 ACT, 9 APs two 5s in Gov and Human Geo six 4s in History and English, one 3 in Bio

GPA: honestly not sure. when I was applying it was about 94 unweighted 98 weighted but I kinda checked out second semester so who knows.

Lots of extracurrics and leadership roles, spent summers working, did shows, awards for research, debate, and citizenship.

Thanks!
