Transfer Chances?

Hello everyone,

I will be applying to transfer to UT Austin in the Summer Semester.

I do not have any ECs at my current university, but I have plenty from high school. (High school ended less than a year ago for me, but since I was a Dual Enrollment Student, I have more than college credit 30 hours.) I have also obtained a job at the state capitol that I will be starting at very soon, which was one of the goals I set for myself upon attending St Edward’s university. The job will consume most of my out of class time, so that was part of why I did not want to commit to any clubs.

My GPA is currently a 3.47. I’m trying to transfer in for history. I saw on some other threads that I’m about 1.5 points below the average GPA for COLA transfers. However, I have considered writing about some of the hardships that occurred in my life before I began actual college, such as losing my dad and being diagnosed with a lifelong auto-immune disease.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. If you have any questions or need any more info, please let me know

Your GPA is a 3.47 but you are 1.5 points below the average GPA for COLA transfers? Is that a typo?

Yes, the average admitted GPA for Fall 2016 transfer is 3.62, so yours is 0.15 below. Assume it will not change for Summber/Fall 2017, you have to have decent essay and special hardship so that you have a good chance.

Yeah, that was a typo on my part. I meant .15, oops. Thanks for pointing that out!
