I am a freshman at NYU and I can’t stand it. I am currently in the process of applying for transfer to a different school and I would love some input on my chances at these schools
High school: GPA - 3.68. ACT - 33
various ec’s, president of a few clubs, etc
College: GPA - 3.675 (first semester).
Haven’t done many EC’s yet in college besides write an article for the newspaper
Colleges:
Brown
Upenn
Northwestern
Vanderbilt
UVA
UNC
Tufts
GW
Emory
UGA
UCLA
USC
I know some of the schools are extremely difficult but I was wondering if it would be worth applying anyways? Thank you
Can you afford these schools as a Transfer, since many will give little to no FA?
UCLA only takes Junior level transfers: 60 semester/90 quarter units and HS stats are not considered only your UC GPA for transferable courses, personal statements and EC’s. Also UCLA will not give FA to any OOS students so prepare to pay $60K/year.
Yes. I am already paying the 2nd highest tuition in America at NYU so the price of these school are actually a benefit. Yeah, I didn’t realize that about UCLA. Any input on the other schools?
In regards to UCLA for transferring its rough dude. Like myself I’m a California resident, I have a good GPA, I do a lot of extracurricular activities, and I’m not even sure if I’ll get in. Transfering to the UC system is tougher than it needs to be if you’re not coming from a California community college.
