Transfer Chances

Currently enrolled at: SUNY Cobleskill

Want to transfer to: CUNY Baruch

I went to a public highschool, got decent grades for being decreasingly attentive the last 2 years.

Had about an 84 overall throughout high school, and an 1110 SAT (took once, hungover, didnt study).

I enrolled at SUNY Cobleskill (NY) the following year. (Not very well known, small agricultural/technology school.)

Major: undecided
3.0- 1st semester (12 cr.)
3.1- 2nd semester (18 cr.)

Since HS, my attitude towards education has changed drastically.
I plan on staying the next two semesters there and switching my major from undeclared to business admin. I will most likely continue to bring the GPA (hopefully). Also at CUNY Baruch Id like to study finance...

What are my chances of being accepted to CUNY Baruch? Lay it on me..

bump......

bump again....come on people, over 100 views and still no replies..

you have very good chances at baruch. i think their acceptance rate is close to 70%.

What does CUNY stand for. I know that SUNY is "State University of New York."

city university of ny

"you have very good chances at baruch. i think their acceptance rate is close to 70%."

I believe its more like 33-35% for both freshman and transfer admissions. Thanks for the replies, anyone else?

Try PMing jacknjill. (S)he currently attends Baruch, so he/she might be able to give you some good advice.

i will be attending the honors college at cuny baruch starting this fall. the regular school is one of the most selective cuny's but if you had an 84 in high school and perhaps consider retaking the sat (aim for at least 1600 out of 2400) then you can be sure to find yourself at baruch. honestly, if you can pull off at least a 3.4 your next semester with about four courses then you should be fine.

the rate is only 30-35% because the way the cuny application works is that you can select up to 6 cuny school's for one application fee of $65. so, a tremendous amount of people who are not qualified (less than 80 high school average) end up including baruch just for the hell of it, but the vast majority do not gain admission.

1110 old >1600 new

I meant getting the math and verbal scores higher. They don't care too much for the writing section as of now but don't get less than a 500, it will hurt you.

I was thinking of applying to Baruch at one point and my friend is a junior there. In order to transfer to the business program, you need a minimum GPA of 2.8. That was a year ago so I'm not sure if it's changed. The school is becoming very difficult to get into, FAST. So, even though you meet the GPA requirement I would not be surprised if they didn't accept you. Good luck, though.
