Okay, so I’m a male latino sophomore starting this fall and I’m going to be applying for transfer admission to BC for this spring and I want to get a sense of what my chances are. Here are my stats from high school to the present:

Numerous athletic accolades (all state, all league, etc.)
speak fluent portuguese and spanish (took AP spanish when in 11th grade)
took 2 APs, 1 college dual enrollment (SUPA, Syracuse Univ.)and the rest were honors
1220 SAT

College:
Architecture major (one of hardest ones available at my school, switching major though)
GPA: 3.1
EC’s: Lacrosse, Student Gov’t Association.

they say the average transfer has a 3.5 college gpa. i got in this spring with a 3.4 but i had also gotten in the year before and talked to one of the counselors about my situation. i would highly reccomend setting up a meeting with someone from the office, its like a casual interview... your high school stats are great tho. it really depends on the competition and # of spots open. good luck!

Just for your info, BC has a very low transfer rate. I think it was around 12-13% last year. If you can really explain your reasons for wanting to go there, I think you'll have a shot like anyone else, but your GPA is pretty low (hopefully you can explain how difficult architecture is and I commend you for taking it :) )

yeah architecture was pretty intense and theres a section of the application that asks you to like explain why grades may be inconsistent so i think ill be able to explain there. thanks for the comments though.

yeah i mean ive emailed and spoken over the phone several times to the main counselor of transfer admissions so do you think that would count as this impromptu interview?

is it easier to transfer into bc depending on your major? say perhaps that I want to transfer in as an english major would that be easier than transferring in as a business major?
