Anybody know anything about one's chances as a transfer? My daughter goes to Cornell and wants to get back on the west coast for a variety of reasons. She got all As her first semester and had a 3.9 in high school with decent SATs (not great). Do you know if they evaluate transfer students any differently than incoming freshmen?

I believe the tranfere acceptance rate is about 7%...not to worry, going to cornell and getting all a's probably means she stands about a 35-40% chance. (The low stat comes from the fact that delusional people think they can transfer from community college to stanford)

^ agreed.

The transfer acceptance rate for 06-07 was 5%.

Thanks for that information. With these things, I think it's best not to think too much about the statistics -- she's at a good place now, and so there's not the same pressure that there was last year. If it works, then great; if not, at least she's already settled.

Also, she might have an edge since she's coming from an Ivy League and with a high GPA.
