Transfer chances

Currently attending: Moorpark College, SMC, Saddleback, IVC, Ventura (basically CCC)
GPA:3.94
ACT: 30, Writ:10
EC: Work full time since I became legally able to
Several years full time work experience in my field (accounting)
I have over 60 units and I am applying to the business major.
Chances please?

Bump bump.....

It always depends on how many seats are open. Business has a fairly low acceptance rate for transfers (usually 30% range) but your GPA (assuming you have all the required courses) will get you serious consideration and a decent chance. You should consider essays as being very important. ACT (or SAT) score is not considered for transfers into junior year.

Thank you. I do have all the required courses plus some....actually 30% sounds good to me compared to the other schools I am applying to. lol

Assuming your courseload reflects what they like to see at the college of business and you write strong, passionate essays, you have an excellent chance. 3.94 GPA keeps you very safe. Unfortunately, as drusba stated, that strong ACT you have won't come into play.

Poor, uninterested essays are enough to get anyone denied though. Take them very seriously, do several drafts, have family and professors check them over. Make sure any connections you make between your extracurriculars and your choice major are abundantly clear, no matter how obvious they seem.

Good luck.

Here's a little tip for essays....the College of Business deans are huge about ethics right now. If you bring up business ethics (like having been in a situation where you chose ethics over reward) in your essay, you'll really get their attention and consideration.

I got in!!!!!!!

heh, yeah i guess it's about that time of the year isn't it.

congrats!

Congrads!

I wish the institute of Aviation would do hurry up...

Congrats....

Thank you!!
