i was waitlisted at wash u this year and i showed a lot of interest throughout the admissions process. what are my chances for a fall 2008 transfer? thanks.

your chances are good. Be sure to send in your application on or very near after February 15th. WashU has transfer admissions on a rolling basis, a little known fact that many seem to miss. As such, those that apply as early as possible show more interest and, at that point, all of the transfer spots are available. Those that apply towards the final deadline - April 15th - will face stiffer competition as there are fewer spots at that point. It seems like College Confidential members that applied early this year all got in, whereas that was not the case for those applied later even though there wasn't a considerable difference in the strength of the applicants.

ok, thanks brand_182!

No problem. My mistake, btw. You can (and should) submit your application on or near after January 15th, not February.
