Transfer Chances?

Hello all. I am a member of the class of 2010 at Fairfield University. Admittedly, I was an apathetic person in high school, finishing with a GPA in the 2.7 region. My SATS were 2200, evidently enough to get me into several colleges even with the pathetic GPA.

Anyway, I insisted to friends and family that I was no imbecile. So far, I have improved my work ethic to disprove the skeptics. This has resulted in a 4.0 GPA, which I believe is highly sustainable for the remainder of my college career.

Hypothetically, how would my chances look at some of the more "elite" colleges if my sophomore year concludes with the 4.0 intact? Would these colleges disregard the HS record and see that I have amended my ways? Or would they be unforgiving?

P.S. I have been browsing these boards and am stifled by 95% of the acronyms you people use. Keep the replies acronym-free. Thanks.

Bump. I need some feedback here.

With those SATs,and a 4.0 college GPA you should have a good shot at some top 20s barring good essays and extra curricular activities. In fact, I would be willing to bet you get in to a couple. The real elites (i.e. harvard/yale) thats a crapshoot, and unlikely, but rice/northwestern/cornell/Upenn are not impossible.
