Currently attending: Ithaca College, Sophomore Journalism Major (I am switching my major and explain why in an essay)
Cumulative GPA: 3.68 (3.81, 3.74, 3.46).
Midterm GPA: 3.78 (not included in cumulative GPA) (I sent these in)
High School GPA: 4.0 u/w, ? w (If I'd had to estimate, I'd say around 4.8)
High School Rank: 1/400-500ish
Good ECs - high school and college
I suspect good rec's although I didn't request that my recommenders show them to me
Good essays (or so I've been told)

Mostly worried about the GPA drop in the 3rd semester (not because it's bad, but because it is a drop)... but hoping midterms make up for that. A's in all three of my econ classes. A's for midterms in my financial accounting class and my statistics class. With the exception of a B+ in calc class this semester, all my B+'s and my one B have been in journalism or french classes with the B coming in French. Not sure, but I'm hoping since those aren't related to finance, that my strong GPA in finance-related courses will help.

Oh yeah... not sure how much SATs count in the process, but
SAT: 1380 (M:720/V:660)
SAT II: M IC: 660, Wr: 620, US His: 600 (these are probably the weakest part of my app.)

I recently got accepted into Olin and I can say that SATs do not count a lot. I'm at Southern Methodist Univeristy right now and I have a 3.9 gpa, which I think that and my essays must have been the most important part because my ACT score was a 28. So do what you will with that.

I was told that on the day they mail out the letter, you can check online on the status section. Does it look any different before... like does it just give you your decision as soon as you log on... is it under status (which currently just says: Your application is complete and being reviewed by the admissions committee... a decision will be mailed to you). Just curious as to where I should look since I'm thinking my decision should probably be made this week.

I can't remember what it looked like before but there's a green button that says "check to see your admission decision" and under it there's a few lines about how it will be a package mailed to you etc. and then there's link that says click here to see your letter. So I can't tell you when that all happened in relation to when I actually received the acceptance letter because I haven't been on that website in a while.

Hey Toph, I think you have great stats for transferring to Olin. My stats could use improvement. Also, WUSTL seem to have misplaced my high school transcript... That will delay my decision because until they receive my high school transcript, which I sent out again, my application will not be complete.

What's wrong with your stats though? How are your ECs? And I was skimming your posts; you have good SATs. Why aren't you submitting them? Because you weren't pleased with your SAT IIs?

My SAT IIs are definitely part of the reason. Also, WUSTL does not accept SAT scores from SAT tests taken during college, which would be my highest composite score.

My stats are not remarkable, so I don't want to be overconfident. Besides, my GPA (3.73) is not that that hight considering I am attending a community colleg. My ECs are standard. My letters of recommendation were decent. My essays are not too well-written. In fact, if it weren't for my age, I probably would not apply. All my family and friends claims that being only 17 with an AA and 116 completed units will somehow increase my chances of being accepted.
