University of Virginia
College of William and Mary

I am in-state so I am thinking that this will help me.
I am currently a college freshman and will be applying to these schools for the Fall of 2008.

College Stats:

Current College: James Madison University
Major: Biology
Minor:Mathematics
Current GPA: 4.0
Honors Program-I've would have been gotten into if I had applied as Early Decision last year but because I applied for Regular decision, I could not apply to Honors Program since the date was too late. But I am applying to the Honors Program this semester, since I have a GPA, I should get in. Thus, I will have some of the classes bumped up to Honors Level.

Classes Taking Next Semester: 15 credits
BIO 124H - HONORS IN EVOLUTION & ECOLOGY
GANTH 195 - CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY
HTH 407 - HEALTH EDUC FACILITATION/SYN
GCOM 123 - FUND HUMAN COMM: GROUP PRES
GBUS 160 - BUS DECIS MODERN SOCIETY

For the BIO 124H, my Lecture teacher and my Lab Instructor recommended me to take it and only 19 biology major students are allowed to take the class.
The last two classes are required for me to take as a Freshman because they are General Education classes.
And the HTH 407 class is one of the classes that I have to take because I was accepted into a program called Reality Educators Advocating Campus Health (REACH).

Extracirruclar Activities:
-REACH
-Habitat for Humanity
-Operation Smile
-Pre-Med Association
-Alpha Epsilon Delta-Premed Honors Fraternity
-Student Duke Club

Recs:
I plan to get a letter of Recommendation from my calculus teacher that I had this semester. My calculus teacher had graduated from the University of Virginia so I help that will help.

Is that GPA 4.00 out of 4.00?
My skool’s GPA is out of 4.3 so i have difficulty comparing with other students here on dis page.
I’m thinking of transferring to UVA as well, but my GPA is around 3.66 out of 4.3 -_-;;
That is bad, but my university is very prestigious and it is hard to get a good GPA. Im from South Korea, Yonsei University.
My highskool scores are fairly pretty good.

My primary interest is attending a college that has a great Biology program and a decent mathematics department. I have been also looking at State University of New York at Albany, which supposedly is one of the top 25 biology programs in the east. If anyone has any information on that college, specifically their biology program, I would greatly appreciate it! I look forward to your responses.

I didn’t add this in the main body of my ‘introduction’ but after I graduated from High School, I went to CC over the summer. I had taken two courses and respectively earned an A in both of those classes. How do you think that will help my chances?

UNC might not take you … first ur not a NC resident..second ur way too qualified.. of course..they will easily figure out the fact that being so qualified u would have applied to other quality schools as well…

UPENN…may be… did u do any research in your field?
