I currently attend a CC in New Jersey (Brookdale, in Monmouth County) and I am planning to transfer to Rutgers-NB for Fall 2008. I currently have 44 credits and expect to graduate in the summer and my current GPA is 3.76 (I made the dean list one semester, not sure if that really matters).

I'm not sure if they will still look at the HS stats because I thought universities don't look at HS stats once you earn a certain amount of credits but on the Rutgers application they still ask for SAT scores and GPA, which somewhat worries me as in high school I didn't do as well as in CC.

According to a few people I talked to and even one counselor at my CC, they say I should be able to get into Rutgers by transfer but I read somewhere that the New Brunswick transfer takes very few transfer students, and I'm sure it is very competitive.

I will apply to other schools, but Rutgers is my first choice

ps - one last question :p The transfer deadline is January 15, I plan to finish the application tomorrow, but what happens if the transcipt does not get there by the 15th? I read sometimes transcripts aren't sent until two weeks time, which I find hard to believe!

anyway, any help will be greatly appreciated

hey you have a great chance are you applying under the transfer grant? also from what i heard RU is transfer friendly i believe about 50% get in (thats what undergrad admissions told me) and that 30% enroll (again undergrad admissions said that) spring admissions is competitive i've heard. And yeah i believe your whole app transcripts and all have to be completed and in to them by the 15th

Even though i heard they are tightening up on the admission standards i think You will undoubtedly get into Rutgers New Brunswick with a 3.7 thats an A- average and im assuming your instate since brookdale is in Lincroft...while they will look at your HS and SATs it wont be weighed heavily at all since you will be applying as a junior transfer. Anyways good job with your GPA.

I think the APP, has to be in by the 15th but if other materials come in late i dont think it will affect your chances as long they receive (by a reasonable time)

another question...on the app the only schools availible for NB are the Arts&Scienes, Biological, Egineering, Pharmacy, Arts and Nursing...but I am a business major. I know there is a business school in Newark, but I'd prefer the one in NB

So those are the only choices?

edit: never mind, the Arts&Scienes school does take business majors ;)
