Transfer Chances

Hi, so I know that Mcgill does not pay a lot of emphasis on essays, recommendations, and extra-curriculars.
I had a 4.26 GPA on a 4.33 scale for 18 credits that I took at college (with 4.33 gpa in second semester). My college courses were taken at a Canadian University. I had a 3.8 GPA on a 4 scale in grades 9 and 10, but my grade 11 and 12 scores are not so good; they are like a 3.2 on a 4 scale with not so good scores in Math but I have great scores throughout high school and college in the courses I want to pursue at McGill. But I have an A+ in college Math course that I took.
So I am wondering if they will pay more attention to my college scores, or would my low grade in Math in high school be a disadvantage? Please be aware that I have 18 college credits and would be applying as a transfer student.
I have a great TOEFL score, well above 100 on 120 scale and am an international student. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I wanted to add that am working toward more credits and would have completed about 30 of them next year before enrolling at McGill. Since applications deadlines are near, I won't be able to send those scores before I take the exams. So I will be applying with only 18 college credits. Any comments and suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

What university are in currently in? Are you sure you want to transfer to McGill?

I do not know much about Transfers to McGill, but I do know 1 person that did. She did quite well in her freshman year though, not sure about her high school grades.

I can ask her about it for you.

Hey danielsl,

Thanks for your kind reply. I took courses at Thompson Rivers Univ. in BC. I really do want to transfer to McGill, but am worried my grade 12 scores would be a disadvantage. I don't really know whether they'll see that I did great in college or look at my grade 12 scores and say whoa, she did not do well in Math. But then they might think that she wants to be an English major, and Math is not really that important, though I compensated for the Math score by doing well in college math. So am kinda confused.
Would be really grateful if you could ask your friend about her high school grades and if they matter for transfers. And also, how many college credits she had when she applied?
Thanks, have a great day!
