I'm thinking about applying to Georgetown for transfer from Boston College. I'm a freshman with a 3.8. History and Political Science Major.
SATs
Verbal- 640
Math- 680
Writing- 690
High school I was top 3% with some ECs like NHS
ECs in college- Student government and senate, a job as a tutor for an elementary school (2 days a week), intramural football, and a member of 3 or 4 more clubs. I may be forgetting a few ECs but that's the basic story. Any possible chance of acceptance? Thanks

Oh yeah I forgot some other facts. SAT II- US History- 760, Biology- 660.
AP US- 5, AP Bio-3, AP Micro- 4, AP English- 4, AP Lit-4, AP Envir. Sci.-4, AP- Modern Euro- 3, AP Calc AB-3

..and ACT 31

have you ever applied to georgetown?

no. i wanted to last year but i never got a chance

I just transferred last year and your stats Look good to me. Which school do you want to transfer into? Just keep in mind that there is no political science major at Georgetown. Similar majors are Government in the College, and most of the majors at the SFS. Good luck!

thanks. i'll most likely apply to Georgetown College. is the transfer process difficult? is the transition pretty easy? thanks again

Personally, I thought the transfer process was not difficult but rather comprehensive and longg. Gtown makes transfer students really feel welcome, with their New student orientation programs and activities just for transfer students, you find your niche pretty quickly. Academically...it takes awhile haha. But overall, transferring to Gtown was pretty much the best decision I have ever made.

Thank you very much for your help. To be honest, I'm still not sure if I want to transfer, but I'm thinking about it.

Well, PM me anytime if you are still interested in applying to gtown
